During the NXE update MS will be adding the option to install a game to the harddrive. Now my question is would this be safe for people to use with a backup disc?

My hunch is the games image would have a different checksum to the official DVD+DL image and thus result in a ban. So should people with modded firmware stay well away from this upcoming feature or should it be safe to use?

no one can tell you for 100% certainty. Just wait and check these forums or others when it comes out to see what people have to say (if it works/is safe or not).

Yea, that much I know. Im really just looking for other peoples opinions on checksum checking etc. I think MS are going to use it as another way to ban people who slip up and install a game to their harddrive.

Yeah. Right now I am going to wait. I am just going to use from dvd anyways. It doesn't seem to be worth the install on my small hard drive because it doesn't load significantly faster.

But if any others have guesses, feel free, but I don't think anyone can really comment.
