I left shrink/decrypter on your advise (thanks-I was pulling what hair I have left out)It was simple to use.I'm not very savy and some of the terms used are going over my head. what I got is that I should be moving onto a better, updated process and from what I read, I think I want to use DVDfab5-Fixvts-shrink-imgburn. I have all on my desktop and started with DVDfab5. Im stuck. I wanted to move onto FixVTS1.603 but got an error messg. I'm sure Im not doing something right or missing a step somewhere. Not knowing what I'm doing is frustrating. I know I saw a step-by-step on this topic on your site but cannot locate it.
Can anyone point me in the right directiion.
Thanks - CC

There all there with that link on my previous post. Easy peesy stuff cmc988, nothing major to worry about...just follow the directions that are outlined. If you get into a tail spin, then by all means post back. :)

Cheers.

EDIT: Did you mean DVDfab hd decrypter or shrinkto5?
Both are freebies.

Thanks to all.
I now got errors while attempting FIXVTS1.603 then I got a "Cycle redundency error" while using DVDShrink 3.2. Is the shrink error due to the fixvts not working?
I am attempting to back up the new "pirates of the caribbean" movie.

Yes. I was going to attempt back up in this order:
DVDFab5-HD - FixVTS1.603 - DVDShrink3.2 - Imgburn.
When I attepted to use FixVTS,I got an error saying "Couldn't backup E:\video_TS\VTS_01_0.VOB. The same messg came up 13 times as it checked each section..
Im guessing if the FixVTS didnt work then shrink wouldnt be able to do its job?
thanks-cc

Load VTS_01_1.VOB into FixVTS.
Make sure FixVTS has a check in all 3 boxes.
Click on Full DVD.

Thanks for your time.
I checked all 3 boexes (2 were checked the 1st time) a new error box-"couldn't open E:\Video_ts\VTS_01_01_0.vob for read/write". This error occured 13 times again on each section.
Do I have the latest version of this program? Sorry for all the questions. Has anyone else get these errors and can they be overcome?
Thanks for all the input.-CC

That (1.603) is the latest version. Will this file play on your computer after the ripping process is completed and prior to trying to further process? Try that as maybe we can narrow down the problem.

Try ripping the main movie only.

Is E:\ a HDD or is that your optical drive?

Thanks for your time everyone.
I used DVDfab5 to rip the movie only - then tried FixVTS1.603 and got the same (13) errors. DVDShrink3.2 then stopped with 20% anylized with a cycle redundency error.

Then why are you trying to process the files on your E: drive? No wonder you're getting errors with FixVTS. You cannot process the files that are still on the disc. You need to go to the folder that DVDfab put the files. Process the files that are in C:\documents and settings\owner\my documents\DVDFab\iso\P130nnw1.
Edit:
FixVTS will not work on ISO files either. You need to rip files to a folder and not an ISO file.

Sorry for the delay...
work sometimes gets in the way of whats really important in life..Like I said,I'm not good at this ...I saw the file and I thought that was it. It was the movie that was still in the drive. I figured out where it was and I got everything to work...SUCCESS. You guys are like computer gods!
2 more questions if you dont mind. 1-ImgBurn has other options that I may like to use in the future, where can I learn more about the choices?
2-can I back up X-box or playstation2?
Thanx everyone..CC
