Hello, I just downgaded my Psp to 1.50 official firmware. After waiting for so long to do so, I waited with bated breath to fire up some emulators for the first time. However such was not the case for as soon as I loaded them up, the screen loaded the same screen that plays when you load a UMD, yet a few seconds later the emulator booted me back to the main menu with a message saying the game could not be started (80020001). Is there anything that can be done to help? I followed all the installation instructions to a T and still can't run these emulators. I tried this on Rin 1.32 and Dgen. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
So I need to be on a custom firmware in order to play them, eh? Since downgrading to 1.5, I was a bit overwhelmed as to what to do first but now it seems the choice is clear. Do those guides show wether its possible to go straight to the cfw you reccomended from 1.5 or do I need to upgrade to other cfws beforehand? Thanks for your continued help mrgooey, you must see some potential in me to continue helping me out like this. :p
no, 1.50 should work fine. But for new emulators or other homebrew, you should update the pspfirmware to custom. The guide says it all, all the step to upgrade to 4.01 M33
Well, I can't even update my firmware until I ever get on a computer again. In the meantime, since you said 1.50 should work just fine, do you have an idea of what's wrong on my end? I believe Rin for example should work on 1.50 alone.
Unrar the folder inside should be a folder called PSP open it up then open the game folder then there should be a folder called MasterBoy copy that to game 1.50 or game150 CFW on your memory stick
Roms (.gg, .sms, .bin, .gb, .gbc, .sgb, .cgb, or .zip) can go in any folder but it would be best to make a folder called roms in MasterBoy folder and put them in there. GBC roms though should go in the Roms GBC folder ( .gbc ones) and any SMS roms in the Roms SMS (.sms ones)
