Thought I'd keep this question in a guitar hero thread. Just burned a copy of GH world tour, just wondering for those who have done the same if they are having trouble with it?
During gameplay I get wii console unable to read disc bla bla, screen is a deep red, light maroon colour.
I unrared the file, burned with nero, write speed x2, my wii has a wiikey with 1.9s update and wii has the latest update as of oct.23 2008.

Last I read it was still unsure whether Wii Rock band instruments would work on GH World Tour. Well the game is out now, any news???
I have Rock Band and would buy GH world Tour game, but I'm not buying another $170 set of video game instruments.

Looks like Bad News for Wii owners. I tried to play GH world tour this morning and the Rock Band instruments were not recognized. Oh well guess I can live without it!

I have a copy of the original Guitar Hero World Tour. I have a wasabi modchip and wii firmware 3.1u installed.
This game is wanting to update the firmware before I can even play it. Should I update it? or not? I really don't care about homebrew stuff.

Back it up and use Brickblocker and you won't have to update your Wii! I don't know which firmware is on the GH game, you might do some searching.

Yea it's too bad, I haven't been able to get my rock band instruments working with GHWT... :(
Seems Sony and Microsoft made forced harmonix and activision to play fair, but nintendo doesn't really care :(

Ya I tried that and seems the game won't work after using brickblocker. Perhaps a new copyright thing or perhaps gh4 needs the update to even work.

Worked fine for me using Brickblocker!

Hmm what version is your firmware? I have 3.1u I read somewhere that someone thought GH4 had 3.2 on it but I cannot confirm that. Seems to old of a firmware to be on a new game but who knows. I am thinking that maybe your firmware is higher than 3.1 and perhaps GH4 needs a firmware higher than 3.1 even if it is just 3.2. Maybe I'll have to search for a game with 3.2 and update it to that firmware and retry GH4.

Worked on my PAL Wii with Wiikey 1.9s and 3.2E. Used brickblocker. I'm wondering how much money they got from Linkin Park to put their song in this game.....it sucks, and waaaaay to easy ! got 100% on my first runthrough on expert.....

Is world tour a dual layer game. I ripped it with rawdump and it shows it is a single layer disc. Can someone let me know. Thanks

I tried to backup Guitar Hero World Tour using DVD Dump with an SD card and I get a disc error. Unknown disctype 53584145. This comes on the screen before the screen that usually says the disc name and that it will dump in 3 chunks. Haven't seen this issue before with any other games. Tried another copy of the game and got the same error. It plays fine in the Wii so I don't believe it is the disc. Anyone else have this same issue? Is there a different program that I need to use to backup this particular game? Is it a dual layer disc or something?

Single Layer
I updated my firmware with the update on the World Tour disk. It seemed to update only to 3.2U. Game works now on my system with Wasabi chip and my other backups continue to work fine. I am not concerned about homebrew etc cause I don't bother with that. Anyways ripping the original disk with Rawdump worked fine and I just put it in the Wii, updated the firmware, and voila the game worked just fine. Hope this helps.

Thanks ap95al.
I had the same problem. I have a wiikey 1.9s, 3.2u, and when I used brickblocker I got a black screen upon loading the game.
Just running the game without brick blocker and letting it update worked like a charm. I'm not sure if homebrew was effected, as I don't use it.

Any news on the DLC?
Since it can be stored on the SD card, it would be awesome to be able to copy the songs.

so say 1 person had some DLC, and another some other DLC, could you just combine the .bin files on the sd card to make a combined list or would the wii know??
also... so it sounds like rb instruments dont work on ghwt, but do ghwt instruments work on rb? i imagine the guitars would but maybe not the drums? anyone know for sure?

I Can confirm that the Guitar Hero Les Paul guitar I just bought at circuit city for $19.99 DOES work on Rockband2. The Rockband instruments do not work on any of the Guitar Hero games however!
