Hi,

Can i put a 120 GB hard drive in a 360 that came with 60 Gb harddrive? and is it possible to transfer the data using the data transfer cable taht comes with a 120GB if the XBOX is modded???

yes you can put a 120 in it, however it has to be one of the scorpio drives i believe. and it needs to be flashed with the MS 120 gig HD SS codes to work.

Are you asking if you can use a retail MS 120gb hdd with a system that came with a retail 60gb hdd or are you asking about opening up the hdd and swaping them like what wabashman is talking about?

I know that seems dumb but that's kinda how I'm reading the question and I remember reading something in another forum about not being able to use the transfer kit to copy info from a 20gb hdd to a 60gb hdd only to the 120gb hdd.

I don't know for sure, but maybe that could be because of the software disc which came with the 120 gig transfer kit back then. I'd think maybe MS would offer one for the 60gig now that it's out.
