I have played Final Fantasy 1-6 and am currently playing 7. I want to follow the series from start to beginning, but can you tell if the rest of them are even worth it?

In reality:

FFX: At the time. Amazing graphics and "meh" storyline.
FFX-2: An attempt to bring in more female gamers. Very focus on the female audience. So be prepare.
FFXII: Play 10 mins and never got to finish it thx to life. Heard it was good.

Overall many FF players agree that:
FF6: Possibility the best or one of the best FF games of all.
FF7: The most over-hype FF game which fan-bois constantly screams it is the best game ever.
FF8: "Whatever..."
FF9: An attempt to go back to the old school FF roots. Good game but a handful of people did not really enjoy.

Right now I'm play FFIII and FFIV on DS. So far so good (except the dubs).

FF 6- Good
FF 7- Overated, but still one of the best games of all time. Dont listen to the angst ridden freak.
FF 8- Excellent Graphics, odd plot, but somehow works.
FF10-THE MOST OVER RATED GAME EVER!

You should try final fantasy VIII, it's the most romantic final fantasy game that has ever graced Playstation. I also liked final fantasy XII's gameplay.

Alright Heres the scoop. I actually OWN all Final Fantasy games except 11 original Copies, Played and BEAT them all.

FF7= WAYYYY Overhyped. Same basic gameplay be prepared for Choco Madness.

FF8= Not to bad, Might want to use a cheat for drawing Magic otherwise you will find yourself in battle for hours upon hours upon hours trying to get the magic fix you need.

FF9= 9My Fav) out of all of them. its awesome really, Simple gameply great storyline. Steiner, ViVi, Zidane and Garnet which are the characters I ALWAYS use to beat the game even though you get like 8 or 9 diff playable guys. The battle system is as simple as this. You find better gear you equip it whoop some ass and you actually get skills from the gear rather then having to keep retraining and buying stuff. Also theres a synth shop on it. Pretty good game.

FF X= Bah Gotty at best. The sphere grid was kinda cool but then lame in the same sense, I feel as if the game kinda went down from there battles were cool, Although I prefer 4 people in a fight rather then 3 and having to find different spheres to place on your sphere board can get lame. I would say about the only thing it has going for it was at the time it had some uber killer graphics.

FF X-2= Bah totally and I mean TOTALLY lame. It really was geared towards a womans audience but then again towards a mans audience the more you have completed in that game % wise the less the characters wear hehe LOOK it up seriously. Gameplay is the same as FF X and the stories actually run with eachother.

P.S Every FF game is different you dont have to play them in order except FF X and FFX-2 those are the only two that the story lines cross.

FF 11 I don't own havnt prolly wont.

FF 12= OMG It was pretty freakin awesome. Seriously another one of my favs. The battle System is fantastic all action on the go, you can setup your gambits in such a fantastic way that it makes fighting simple I.E have a gambit setup where if you have a character at 70% health BAM he auto pops a health pot. Its very fun.

Oh and on a sidenote..... Hunting the Summons in FF12 can actually be harder then the actual boss fights :P believe you me some of those summons will kick your butt dude.

Overall. You dont have to play them in order your not missing out onanything story wise. Honestly there all different except 10 and X-2

In my oppinion I wouldnt even buy 10 and X-2 I would find them somewhere online and get them for free I dunno, thats just my oppinion and seriously I thought they were pretty crappy. Oh look its a monster Eek kill Wakka throw your soccer ball at it. Oh hey emo bitch that has a moogle doll cast lightning OOO scaary... Sorry I just cant get over how lame it was. Seriously though. They really should'nt have done that one. I mean come on.. Okay, Im gonna wear all black, I'm gonna have a piss poor attitude but Im gonna carry around a freakin doll everywhere I go... LAME!!!!!

Seriously I'm sorry I wasted good money on those two..

Although I will tell you this FF12 totally picked it up solo play style it made a big dramatic improvment. And enjoy your airships while you got em. FF 9 is the last FF where you get to actually FLY an airship 10, X-2, and 12 they just take you where you select and poof your there. Also in 12 you can hunt certain beasts and those can be challanging some of the rewards are awesome as well.
