Ok so I just got my xbox flashed with the stealth firmware. So I have started downloading games off torrents. Well I have downloaded Madden 09 & Tiger Woods Golf 09, however each time I have burned them it doesn't read on my xbox. It comes up with error "unplayable disc" it plays all orignals fine and 2 back-up games that he gave me. When I first put the game in and it is reading them it sound almost like it is scrapping or something. So I am guessing I burned them wrong because the ones I burnt happen to be the only ones that do it. So here is what thing I have used and tried up to this point.
I have Memorex 8X DVD+R DL's
I download the games via uTorrent (probably doesn't matter)
I then used XDVDMULLETER to check stealth as well as XBC Back-Up Creator & last night I found yet another program Schtrom360XtractV3.2 to check the iso. Everything is fine. So the next step would be to burn.
So the next step is to burn them. So I downloaded CloneCD for the first shot and resulted in error "unplayable disc" then I tried using IMGBurn nothing.
I also tried rebuilding the iso with the tools in the stealth firmware package, and XDVDMulleter. Still Nothing I have wasted 4 DVD's with no success each time the same result. Anyone have any ideas. I AM STUCK THANKS FOR LOOKING AND ANY RESPONSES

Are you setting the layer break AND using the DVD file?
You only use one or the other. And if you're setting the layer break, make sure the dvd file isn't in the same folder as your iso.
What brand are the discs that work? The ones that were given to you?
Some people say to use only Verbatim or other high quality media. Memorex are also notoriously crap.... I wouldn't blame the media just yet though.
What speed are you burning at? 2x seems to be all the rage amongst most pirates, er, people that back-up their games.

The other games I have are memorex dvds as well. So if I am using the ISO file to burn then I don't need to set the dl break. Also what is this I read about bitsetting.

I do not reccomend using memorex. I tried them myself and could play them on my hitachi's but not my samsungs. Anyway you dont have to set any layer breaks or stuff like that if you use imageburn. You must have a .dvd file for imageburn. Booktype or bitsetting is so your burner changes what other dvd players see the media as. What kind of burner did you say you had? With imageburn you click the little book icon, choose your manufacturer, set booktyping for D/L media to DVD ROM and click Change button.
You should definetly use Verbatim's 8x d/l's. If you can't find them I can sell you as many as you want for a decent price.

Try this:
Have your ISO file, which is the IMG file (same thing), by itself in a folder, it will be a very big file roughly 7GB. If you have an ISO file AND a DVD file, move the DVD file to another folder (any folder you want).
Open imgburn.
Set the layer break in imgburn to 1913760.
Burn at 2x, or even 4x if you like as you have 8x discs.
Also, guy above me is wrong. You don't need the DVD file for imgburn if you set the layer break. I never use the DVD file and I use imgburn for all my 360 games.
Memorex are a bad idea simply because bad quality media can stress the laser.
It should work. Unless you have downloaded the incorrect region (which wouldn't surprise me at this point)........

But when I check the region with XDVDMullter and other programs it identifies one region as region free and the other to NTSC. Also something else I foun pacular was that the name of the dvd is XG2DVD-NTSC. Is that cause for concern?

Good you know what you're doing with the regions thing.
I wouldn't take much notice of what the dvd or iso file is called, unless it's something like 'virus.exe' etc.
Read the comments on the torrents you download to confirm others have it and it works. If there are no comments but heaps of people have downloaded it you're usually pretty safe as most comments come out when it doesn't work.
Try that little tutorial I wrote and your games should work.

No worries.
Was the file that was called 'XG2DVD-NTSC' supposed to be the game Extreme-G 2?

This is probably fairly simple, but you actually did see your console work with a backup correct? So you know for fact that is is capable of playing them and not a bad flash?
need jtag help? Xbox 360 console repair? PM me or chat

Ok so I just brurnt to games.
-Tiger Woods Golf 09' using your method at 4X. It reads sometimes not always. Like I put it in right after burning and it read then I took it out and wrote the name on it and put it back in and didn't read. So ejected in and out a couple of times and read again.
So I thought that maybe it was the burn speed so I then burnt Madden 09' at 8X and the same results... Only reads sometimes. So now I am going to burn GOW2 @ 2.4X and see if that resolves the issue. Meanwhile does anyone else have any ideas. Thanks for the help so far atleast they work SOMETIMES LoL

Well I burned GOW2 at 2.4X and still same results. So I thought I will look for bitsetting for my DVDRAM and I found out it doesn't support it however other people have it working fine. So I don't know what the deal is. Any Ideas?

OK, so you 'sorta' got the game to work. You at least know how to burn them now anyway.
Your next step is to get some Verbatims. Those Memorex are crap. Some games WILL work on Memorex but most won't.
Do whatever you did to burn Tiger but use a Verbatim and I bet it'll work fine.
When I wanted to learn how to download and burn 360 games this thread was very helpful, it's basically what I've told you already though:

Sorry bout that mate
do what the above poster said and if your using mems use verbs
secondly if its unreadable burn at a speed of 2x then try, put the disk back in your pc drive open up imgburn after a burn in read mode and copy paste the data here
Good Luck

Nobody has asked which burner you are using.. Now that's odd because some are much better than others at creating working 360 disks.
The experts seem to agree that you should try a pioneer 112 or above if you aren't getting working results on "A" grade media. Older burners don't seem to do the trick.. we had this with xbox iso's years ago too.
Verbs and REAL Ritek (not ridata/ridisk) both should work flawlessly.. the only "B" media I have seen work reliably are Traxdata purples.
