Hi i have a xbox modded with Aladdin XT with latest M8 bios. And xmbc 1.0 installed. The problem I am having is connecting to my network. Under settings - network settings - it doesn't let me change any setting it just reverts them back to what they are(currntly just a random symbol). Under Dashboard - network setting it allows me to change static to dhcp but still doesn't work. And in xmbc it only allows me to view setting not change them. I thought of upgrading xmbc but without network connection how would i do that? Anyonehave any suggestions

you should probably upgrade to xbmc 2.0

Just unrar it and throw it on a disc (cdr, dvdr) and throw it in your apps folder. You may want to delete your old version of xbmc.

This should help fix the problem, though it sounds like you aren't getting an ip address. If you're hooked up to your network and still get a static ip you can tranfer files via ftp.

If you are trying to obtain a dhcp address make sure your router is set to dhcp and everything is correctly connected.

Thanks , but I can't find whatever you uploaded. And your right I am not getting an ip address either statically or through dhcp. My router is configured fine because we have another xbox here and when plugged in gets assigned ip address no worries .I will try finding an updated version of xmbc like you said cheers

alright yeah the upload link works for me, you have to enter a code at the top to proceed. Maybe megaupload is a blocked site in your region, i've heard of that before.

You can go to www.aidtracker.com and download the aid torrent file

Load the file in your torrent client and download aid.

When it is finished downloading extract the iso and burn the iso to a dvd-r.

You should check if you have a connection to the router. there should be a green light with a orange activity light where you plug in the cable in the back of your xbox. If that light doesn't turn green use a differen cable. If you get a green light then it's the settings in your router and that has been discussed a lot on this site. I'll find the link for you just give me a few minutes.

Got aid downloading, what is aid :-) (for the newbie). And the router settings are fine 95 % sure its the xbox setting that need adjusting.

Hey got aid burnt to disk but it doesn't boot from xbox is it suppose to boot like a normal cd.

Ok got it onto my network - heres how
The xbox can be started in normal mode by pushing start button and modded mode by pushing and holding start button for 1 second.
what i neeeded to do was start in noraml mode and change network settings there includin changing to static mode and setting up the default gateway. Then setting back to dhcp. Now its all good!!!!
