Alright,
I don't even know if this is the correct forum to ask this question but I got it recommended from a friend, here goes.

I have got vhs film that i would like to capture onto my PC and save it as an mpeg or avi file (whatever would be easier).

I have a GeForce 3 Ti 500 Video Card with TV-out.

What I need to know is all the cables I would need to use to connect my pc up to TV and Video, and also what software I would need to capture film.

Cheers in advance if anyone can help.

well i dont know what plugs the gf3 ti 500 has but a video out is not a video in. you need a video-in port to get your vcr connected to your pc so you can record/capture your vhs-video.so check out if your pc has a video-in port.

Here's what you need: A video capture card. Pinnacle Systems Studio 7 AV/w capture card. Search for it at www.pricewatch.com. It will create the mpeg you want. It's an awsome program that's not very expensive.
I guess I got off track here. You asked about cables. You need a cable with a RCA video & audio out (from your VCR) to audio in (1/8" connector) on your sound card.

Hi everybody
There's another way to capture from vhs
you just need a PC-Tv Card, that will give you analogic inputs, and a software called "Capture Studio Professional", that is freeware and can be found just with a simple google search. This is the very less expensive solution.
