I have a few games backed up but without layer break and no longer have the image file on my system. Is this the way to go? >> Extract the burnt copy (w/o layer break) into an image file and burn it with layer break.

if your asking how to make a iso from a game you already have backed up, you need to use imgburn, read from the backup and save to pc,
then you can re burn to a disk.
i cant tell for sure if this is in fact what you want to know.
I think he's saying he only has the .dvd file, and not the .iso from the backup. If this is the case, then just read the game like you did before (use schtrom, my personal choice, but xbc works great also). If you use schtrom, it will automatically make the new .dvd file for you, and then just use the new one to burn the game with imgburn.
