Modded Wii will only play some games

Hi! have a modded Wii (Wiikey)and have (copied) games from holidays in Thailand and Dubai. Some games play and some don't. Games that do not play are Mario Galaxy,Super Smash, Big Beach sports, Ironman to name just a few. The game title shows on the menu but when you press play the screen turns black and "Error001 unauthorised device detected".The Wii got updated to 3.3 (by accident) so can't download homebrew or use Freeloader!! Are these games just bad burns or could there be a problem with the mod or has the update done something?? Would it be worthwhile to take the Wii back to the business that chipped it in the first place?

You need to update your modchip. Error 001 is caused when some of the newer games detect the modchip. Update the chip and you'll be fine.

I've tried downloading an update from the internet but it didn't seem to do anything! Maybe I downloaded it incorrectly!! I need step by step instructions!! The Wii displays a message as "cannot read disc".
