hey everyone i'm new to all this psp modding and hacking stuff, i'm very advanced in wii modding so if anyone has any questions about that you can ask me but anyways could somebody just explain to me the basics of running downloaded psp games on a psp?

i already know you need a pandora battery and a magic memory stick? what now, keep it simple please

....That's all you need. Just drag and drop your homebrew in standard FAT system on to the memory stick, and you can play it. Just stay away from 1.50 kernel things, but that shouldnt be a problem, everything new is 3/4/5.XX kernel.

how do i know if something is kernel or not? what about all the custom firmware stuff? do i need to worry about that?

all you really need is to make the magic memory stick with firmware 3.93 or higher that way you can use the M33 network update to get the latest custom firmware from DA's server.
and as for the 1.50 kernal that is just homebrews that are more geared towards the old psp fat and will usually be described in the filename of the release like 1.50/3/4/5.XX kernel.
