Pioneer DVR A-07D won't burn Memorex 4X +R Media

I just installed a new Pioneer A-07 in my VAIO, replacing the A-06.

I've managed to burn 3 coasters with Memorex 4X +R media, trying various things. I'm using Nero 6 with Shrink 3.15b5 and get an "internal failure" error a few moments into the burn.

I did sucessful burns at 1X using a used and quick erased Imation -RW and at 4X using a Maxell 4X +R disc.

I'm going to try a Memorex 2X -R next.

I'm going to put the A-06 back in and use it to burn the rest of the Memorex +Rs. (About 35 left) :(
