Question: PSP 1 seg and DTV in the USA? Will it work?

Is it possible that now that the USA has established Digital TV signal transmissions (FEB 2009) could the Japanese PSP 1 SEG TV tuner now be capable of recieving USA DTV transmissions?
or perhaps with a combination of tuner and special software?

If so, I forsee a rush on 1 SEG purchases here! (:>)

good question it would be interesting to find out if its possible and how hard/easy it would be to get it working if it even works on the same principle.

Well I would think most of it would be a matter of software, to get the proper mghz signals locked onto. but then again I don't know much about it, I'm just guessing.

I for one would love to jump on getting a 1 seg tuner if they could do it.

I thought about this last year but never posted it, I was waiting for others to figure it out, guess everyone is so caught up in making emulators and updating firmware it escaped them.
Plus I didn't want the tuner to become sold out like the GPS unit did. Mad rush and all.

Free portable tv! uh yea buddy.

If cell phones can stream tv over the towers by the providers we should be able to collect the local DTV signals on the PSP even better. :)

Heh, "PROVIDERS" reminds me of a old star trek episode.

I bid two thousand Quatloos for the Tuner! heh heh.
