1. get the free avg 8.0
2. make sure you have a basic in/out firewall
3. get the free returnil (and use that when you are on the internet).

avg antivirus is small and does a good job, anything that might slip through avg will be stopped by "returnil" . No virus/spyware/malware/trojan/rootkit has been known to defeat returnil. Returnil runs in memory and speeds up your computer instead of slowing it down.

As long as you have returnil, you don't need any bloated antispyware software.
