xbc won't read games please some help for this newbie

I install the samsung sh-d162d with kreon v.1 I install the drive as a master it reads normal discs but not the 360 games. I am using xbc v2.8 and also tried 2.7 it gives the message no media present the drive tool tab is all grey color can't unlock drive.
