First effort at ripping 360 game from original, does this sound right?

OK
open wxripper, put in gotham 3 original, let it read then hit stop
open dvd drive (im going to use a paper clip on the manual release)
put in game to be ripped, close dvd tray manually
press play, then find magic number, then start dump
--------
open iso in ss merger
select iso, select wxripper, press xbox 360
select xbox 360 layer break file
press merge and create layer break file
burn iso......?

look in the ultimate sticky, I believe there are guides on how to rip with wxripper in there. But just so you know, it is so much more worth ripping the game with a kreon drive. You should just spend the 50 dollars or so and do it. It is worth it.

Yeah I read multiple guides, both here and elsewhere. I just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly.
I plan on getting a drive that's kreon-flashable, I'm just lazy and wondered if I could do it with what I've got.

Yeah, using a drive flashed with Kreon is ALOT easier. I'm not sure what country your in but in Australia, I bought a Samsung flashed with Kreon + an external case for just under $100 from eBay. It came in two days!

I have a question does this method actually work and when you make a backup copy of your games will they run in the 360 without having to do anything or not. Can anyone explain this to me Please Thanks.
