Hi,

I've tried searching for help on this but I'm getting more confused so I'm hoping someone can help me.

I was able to make an MMS using the Universal Easy Installer (MrDude's 4 step GUI thing). I'm pretty sure it had 3.71 M33 and I know my OFW was 3.80 (it's the PSP that came with the Daxter bundle).

Loading the cfw seemed to go perfect and when it was done I hit X to shut off the PSP. I took the pandora battery out, plugged it and startup up. Now the background colour is a reddish hue rather than the original grey. I see the Sony logo and hear the chime but then the waves stop moving when the date, time, and battery indicator (when I try with my default battery) appear in the top right and it appears to hang. About 5 seconds later it shuts off by itself.

I can do a restart + R trigger to get into the M33 Recovery Menu but I don't know what to do from there. What should I do? Is this a known problem?

I've read somewhere that someone else upgraded to 4.03M33 and that worked, but I have no idea how to do that - is there an Easy Installer that has 4.03M33 in it?

I just started diving into this stuff yesterday so I may be asking dumb questions - thanks in advance for all help.

Thanks for the quick response!

I just finished going through the process and decided to go with 4.01 - it all seemed to work ok. But restarting my PSP I get the exact same thing.

I'll try 3.71 next but if that fails what else can I do? What else could be wrong?

Should I do the format flash1 thing in the Recovery menu?

Flashing to 3.71 MM3-4 worked!!!! However, this time I also decided to reset all settings while flashing - when I did the flash to 4.01 I chose to keep existing settings. I guess maybe that was the key. I did think it was interesting that my background "theme" sort of colour was red after my first cfw flash when I never played around with the theme stuff at all.

Anyway - thanks a TON for the quick response larrylje - I really appreciate it! Now I have to figure out how I make use of this cfw. :)
