right im new to all this and am still stuck . i got my psp installed with 5.0 cfw the other day . i think its m33.3 ? now when i download a game thats already in cso , i just connect the psp to the pc and up comes 6 folders . i cut the game cso off my pc and paste it in ISO on the mem card . once its in there it plays no probs on the psp . but most games are rar files ?
now ive click on them and it gives you loads of options and i extract files and put them on the desktop so i can find them easy , but once its done it , it says its "psp game" ? now when i look inside theres files and folders but no cso or iso file , just SYSDIR , USRDIR and some pics etc and in side the 2 DIR theres theres still no iso or cso but the PC has listed the downloaded folder as a PSP Game ?? what am i doing wrong ? ive used winrar and then ive tried winzip and get the same thing .
or once ive extracted them i get a file/folder with the name of the game eg. batman.iso but its a winrar/winzip file ? do these work if i put them in the iso folder on the mem card cos the pc still says they are winrar/winzip files ????
its seems easy when i get a .cso game straight through but id like to learn how to do the rar files cos most game are d/l this way ? im at noemailallowed@here.com for an email etc or just post up here please people, i cant wait till ive figured this out , ive never been this stuck before on the pc lol

The rar files that you are extracting to give you the SYSDIR , USRDIR folders and some pics are most likely to be the .iso files
To check first go to TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS, and uncheck HIDE EXTENSIONS FOE KNOWN FILE TYPES under the view tab.
Now look at the rar file's extensions, they should be .iso
If they are then you can undo the change in folder options to get files back to normal and move to the next step.
Open WinRAR, go to OPTIONS>SETTINGS and choose the INTEGRATION tabs.
Make sure the box next to ISO is unchecked.
Now when you copy the ISO to the ISO folder on your PSP it should work
Good luck, hope this helps

sorry , didnt realise about the email thingy lol
still having a bit of trouble . i did two more downloads , ive done what it says above , now one of the things has loadas of bits of rar in it and other things and when i extracted it it did then show a .iso file bit its still got the winzip logo and its classed as a file folder . but will this work on the psp when i stick it in the iso folder ?
the second one i downloaded came through as part 1.exe and is listed as a application and the part 2 and part 3 are winzip . so i extracted this file and it went and invented a folder called (psp) need for speed . but in it ive still got 3 files , 1 is .exe and is a application with a winrar logo and 2 and 3 are .rar files with winzip logo and listed as winzip files ? will this work if i copy the whole folder to iso on the psp ?

Sure thing binkie ;) (but no harm in helping eh?)
As for your first issue, wood, once you have the .iso file, put it in the ISO folder on your memory stick and it should work fine.
Quote: and 2 and 3 are .rar files with winzip logo and listed as winzip files ? will this work if i copy the whole folder to iso on the psp ?
If they are .rar files, try to extract them and see if you end up with a .iso file.
Games in the ISO folder will only work if they are in a .cso or .iso format
Hope this helps
PS - Winzip might also be associated with .ISO files, do what I told you above with winrar, but with winzip so that .iso file don't look like archives

right im gonna try and download something else and try it . im sure ive just checked and changred the settings you have said but still aint got it working .
so i download the torrent . then find the folder . then double clkcik it and it opens in winrar / winzip . then do i extract that folder ? cos once ive got in to winrar etc theres no iso or cso file anywhere ? do i then extract it ? cos when im doing this , it either works or i get a folder called (psp) "**(name of game)**" . then in side is still no iso or cso ?
thats all im doing but they aint giving me a iso or cso file anywhere ?
can some one pm me a link etc to a game they have downloaded with rar files and they have got working no probs , then i can have a go and see if i can do it ?
ive done a coupe, that have worked but most just extract and leaveme a (psp game) folder ? which i take it is wrong ?

I know what the issue is.
You are extracting the ISO file, thinking it is an archive
The games you have are all fine, but I think that .iso files have been associated with WinRAR/Winzip.
To un-associate them do this:
FOR WINRAR
1-Open WinRAR
2-Choose Option > settings from the toolbar
3- Once settings are open Navigate to the Integration tab, and make sure the ISO box is unchecked (see image below)
4- Click OK, so that any changes are saved.
You're done with WinRAR ;)
Now, if any ISO files were associated with WinRAR they won't be any more
After checking WinZip, I noticed that it will not associate with ISO files.
CSO files won't be associated with either of these.
Also, PM me with the site you got your games from
(Click the icon with a face on the right of any of my posts)
Hope this helps,
GOOD LUCK ;)

right , i think im finally there .
i found and downloaded a game last nite . some one off another site sent me the link cos they knew it worked for them , so this way i could see if i was doing it wrong .
i downloaded it , i then opened up winrar , then left clicked the game so it was highlighted and instead of going into the file and looking at the rar files and trying to ectract them one by one etc . i just clicked "extract" and the highlighted file was extracted . ive now got a folder which in it is a .iso file ! so now ive just got to get my psp and try it . its still got the winzip logo but will it work if i put it in the iso folder on the mem card for the psp?

No worries, glad I could help.
In response to your PM:
1- The sites you mentioned are fine, I have gotten games from them and they work fine.
2-The psp game should have a name like this *******.iso (******* being the name of the game)
3-If the file has the .iso extension then it the ISO and should work just fine, even if it shows the WinZIP icon
4-I think you are getting the ISO files, but are accidentally extracting them because you are unable to tell that they are ISO
(when you extract an ISO you get the files I mentioned in my first post)
4-I personally use WinRAR and 7-Zip myself, as together they can handle all files, and i don't much like WinZIP my self
5-You can change your WinRAR associations to match mine if you want, your choice ;)
You might be better off un-installing Winzip ,and getting 7-zip
PS - In response to your last post the ISO file in the folder you got when extracting should work fine when you copy it to your memory card, even if it has a winzip icon (as mentioned abovr ;) )
EDIT - As for posting images, take a pic of your screen by pressing the PRINTSCREEN button on your keyboard (PrtSc in some cases)
Then open paint, and click paste. Use the crop feature to remove any un-needed bits, and save somewhere easy like your desktop.
Hit http://imageshack.us/ , hit BROWSE, choose the image, and hit host.
Then once it is uploaded, hit the INSERT PIC button above the message reply box, and paste the DIRECT LINK to the image between the image code eg

Hope this helps
