Hey just got this message 800010514 when trying to use my PS3 so im about to format my hdd just to see if it makes a different but does that mean i will lose my DL content such as songs i payed for and dl for rockband any advice

That may work, but it may not. My research indicates that this error code is either a faulty sector on your hard drive or an issue with firmware. If you restore your system, it might fix the problem. If it doesn't, you might have to wait for the next system update release to see if that fixes you up.

As far as what you've downloaded, you will need to re-download it, but you shouldn't have to pay for it again. I think there is a limit as to how many times you can re-download these files, so I would make sure the system is working properly before I go ahead and download them again....

Some downloadable content ie Singstar isn't quite as easy to re download. Apparantly you need to email them to receive the credit back for the songs you have bought and then download them again. But apart from that should be ok.
