i have been and still am a member of some sites similar to this one.
and in my experience moderators are edited by ddp.
they have this power and any one who questions it gets the ban hammer.

You don't post links/upload programs that are illegal because in some way the site you post them on could be sued. They will lose everything because some idiot posted something they were asked not to.
A couple years ago i was into cell phone hacking. Everyone was asking for this program named "RSS Carrier". The program could do anything you wanted, you could change networks, change serial numbers, change free roaming, change every aspect of the phone and nobody would know. It's a tool that motorola uses to fix/modify phones.
When it was leaked motorola set out to find it's missing program and it sued owners of all the different cell phone sites that had a link to rss carrier, or any info to get rss carrier.
So you see AD is covering itself from that, we wouldn't want to lose these forums due to someone posting info on how to download games.
As for the other rules it's just common sense...show respect...because if you're an asshole nobody wants to help you.

I hope they don't ban you. Because, you know the saying "every village needs an idiot". Well... you seem like you'd fit the job description perfectly. So hang out for awhile and entertain us.
Seriously though, are you really that simple minded? Why do you have a problem with this site, or any other, having some rules and structure?
The fact is that backups are illegal in most places. Now, if some idiot were to post a link here on Afterdawn which directs you to a download, then that makes Afterdawn a host for that illegal download. Obviously, Afterdawn doesn't want that.

Rules are determined by the hosting company and their ISP... I could get AD pulled with a few carefully directed complaints... but why bother when the information is scattered far and wide for anybody with the brains to hunt it down.
stupid little lazy pirates whining they can't post illegal links... Lets post this idiots IP and ISP details on the end of this thread and see how little whining pirate likes invasive and rule breaking details being posted.
I pull stunts like that on my site :)

although im not posting as much as i used to i can say we are getting one to many of these threads, people opening threads asking to be banned and such (pspvlanubbnunddbsz) i think its snowballing, we should close the thread the moment it opens, although "wolves feeding time" is quite fun i think its having a negative impact:(

They aren't anything like they were back in the good old days... I miss the silly discussions about "horses ass" and picture posting madness things that always got totally out of hand...
Good times.. but the really fun people you could wind up until they were spluttering impotent rage have gone. How I loved needling at a certain persons sexuality until I could feel him turning purple.. then hugs all round :)

Can't you see that crazyp88 lasted long enough to insult someone else, and then got banned? I don't exactly think he was banned because he asked a question... please always follow a thread to the end, like you would read a book.

The moderators control whatever they want here, and if you are unhappy with that, then please leave Afterdawn's space. If you are in America, you follow the American laws... when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
