Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could tell me why a DVD that I copied starts jumping towards the end. I used Shrink and NERO to burn. At the beginning everything is playing fine and then around the 1hr 20 min mark the DVD starts to jump in 10 seconds lots. The whole DVD seemed to have burnt fine as it does play thru to the end. Its only the last 20 minutes hwen the DVD jumps. Could this be the black DVD i used or something else i am missing ? The orginal runs fine.

Regards
Frogger

I guess you meant "blank" DVD, not "black" DVD. Thats a good place to start, Try a different brand, use only high quality media.
Check and clean your source discs before copying.

Try playing the copy in your computer and/or another DVD player.
What DVD player are you using?

Heres a tool to check your discs for read errors.

Thanks for your suggestion.
It seemed to have worked on my PC ok.
I guess if it works there its not the way i burned the copy ?
Ill try and get hold of another DVD player and see how that goes.

Thanks
Jason

Jason,

- Standalones players are allot picker than a PC drive - so you should take Frank's advise, Ritek GO4 or Verbatim Discs are good -

and next backup,

Try using "Custom Ratio" in shrink and compress your movie until you have about 1/8 of an inch of gray at the end of the green bar - that way you're not writting right to the edge of the disc - that should solve that problem when playing it on your standalone :-))

and, Welcome to the Club ;D
