d2pro v2 wii clip problem

I just got my d2pro v2 and wii clip today and soldered them together like the picture on the wii clip site. I clipped it on and turned on the wii and I didn't see any blue or red flashing lights on the chip and the drive wouldn't accept discs. I removed it then it would read originals again. I shorted the clk jumper and tried again and still no lights. Could this just be a bad solder joint somewhere?

I have three d2pro9 along with three wii clip. I shorted the clk jumper on one and started up the console but I didn't get any blue or red lights. It would play originals but would not recognize backups. I tried another and this time the drive wouldn't accept any discs until the wii clip was removed. If I unsolder the clk jumper and solder the "j" wire instead would that work on one of them or is there some other problem?
