I'm trying to put full seasons of TV shows on one DVD, would dual layers do this? I know they are about twice the size of regular DVDs, but do regular drives read them, and do programs such as DVD FAb, DVD shrink, etc. write to them?

DVD Shrink doesn't have a native burn engine and relies on other applications to do the burning for it. DVDFab has a burn engine and would put your compilations on a disc. DVD Shrink is also capable of making your compilation....simply output to ISO and burn the ISO with Imgburn.

it would still be less expensive to use a couple or even three blank dvd-5s that it would be to use DVD+R DL dvd-9 blank media

Hey thanks for the response - I wasn't worried about cost though, I just don't want 3 or 4 cds for one TV show.. Do regular dvd burners pick up DL discs? They are almost the same price as regular ones anyway

All modern burners that I know of are capable of burning both single layer and double layer discs. I really doubt putting an entire season of a series on one DL disc would look very good. I usually get 3-5 episodes per single layer discs without menus and they look pretty good, but I couldn't imagine trying to cram 12-16 episodes onto one DL disc.
