I am having a problem with windows media player on vista. When i play files in media player it plays only part of the video. Some files it plays the whole thing. At first I thought maybe it was the file format but this was strange to me because on my XP machine it plays everything just fine. anyways I mostly own only all AVI files some it would play all of them some it only play part of them. Say the file plays for five minutes it would only play 30 seconds of it. It would start playing fine then after about 15 seconds the video just fast forwards really fast the stop and play the last 15 seconds of the file. Like i mentioned early some avi's play just fine however on the XP machine they all play just fine. I have tried several different codec packs and uninstalled and reinstalled Media player to only end with the same result. Can some body please help me solve this. I even tried Real Player, Divx, VLC and they all do the same thing. Please help.
