Hi..
i am new in this forum and i have been reading some of the posts here but i still can't find a final answer to my problem so here is my problem:

i bought a 360 from a friend that does not have a drive in it. He said that the drive was damaged and he through it away and bought himself a new console.
now i have his old console with no drive in so i bought a hitachi ROM57 drive.
From what i have read so far i understood that you need the old drive to extract the key and spoof it into the new drive.

the problem is that i don't have the old drive and i don't know what kind of drive he had.. neither does he!!

Is there a way to solve this problem and make my new hitachi drive work with the console or did i just buy both for nothing?

ya, your friend just screwed you. you could get the key off the MOBO i believe with the proper chips and all, but its not worth it. tell your not-so-nice friend to just give your money back.
