Is there a better way to charge the remote rather then leaving the ps3 on the entire time or buying that over priced charge station?

You can charge it through your PC, just plug into the USB port and it will charge.

Oner, is that an official or third party product? I would like to purchase something similar because it makes charging the controllers much easier.

Also, does the Media Remote use mini-usb to charge as well?

I've also heard that if you have a cell phone such as the Moto Razr you can use the charger for it to charge your controller if you have a dual shock 3. But I tried it on the regular sixaxis and it wouldn't charge so I'm not sure if it's true or not.

Theres no reason why it shouldn't, any usb source will charge it. Theres nothing special about it.

The official remote doesn't have a mini-usb port on it.
