I don't know what kind of firmware to download and when I google I get a number of driver software ads. I just have a Dell computer with DVD BURN LITE-ON|DH-20A4P-04 20X %. If someone have any suggestions and or a link to download it so I can get back to burning. I have used Nero, ConvertXdvd, Imgburn and after I have burned a couple of movies I get the notorious write error. I am using Maxell CD's and DVD's. Thanks

Not the best media anymore, they outsource to various manufacturers now. But, let's see if we can get you going again. Burn at 1/2 the rated speed, 8X, Try Verbatim, Sony or Taiyo Yuden if you can find them. Office Max has the Verbatim on sale this week for $24.99 for 100.
here is the firmware from the codeguys. Looks like 9P54 is the latest driver from this site.

Here is their homepage forum on Lite-on drives.

Something has a hold on that drive. Shut down programs running in the background and slow down your burn speed.
