All of a sudden I cannot seem to either reinstall Roxio or get rid of it. Every time I try to do any function, a prompt comes on trying to install Roxio, and I have to hit cancel like three times. When I try to install it, it tells me it cannot. With Sonic it ask me to find a drive, so I cannot use it to burn cds or dvds. I had the trial for Nero but it ran out, and I don't have the money to purchase it right now. what the heck am I to do so I can simply burn a cd? Anyone have any thoughts.

For some reason when i burn a cd, it won't play in my car cd player, but will play on my computer. When i last burned a DVD, i was told to change recording speeds. Now i don't know how to reset my computer's cd /dvd drive speed to a conventional cd burn speed. Is there a preferred cd burn speed I should be using as compared to a DVd burn? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Burn at 16X for car players, some older ones don't like the newer disks and may not read them at all.

And don't forget you're not saving any money by buying cheap discs if they skip or can't be read by your player.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Good Grieg that link to everything imgburn was a little to much info. Isn't there just a simple and basic procedure for taking mp3s or any music files from my hardrive and using imgburn to burn a cd. It is really all I want to do.

Yes. I use WMP 11 to burn audio CD's. It's a piece of cake.

I am having difficulty in finding out what hardware I need to connect a cassette player to my computer. I have shoeboxes full of inteviews with pro athletes and music stars I did when I was a journalist back in the day, and I am trying to find a way to salvage their content on cd to preserve them. Is there both a program and a piece of hardware I can obtain to accomplish this. Any help out there again is greatly appreciated.

You should have an audio "line in" jack on the back of your PC to use with an RF cable (component red or white). Use Audacity (free) to record and edit and convert to mp3 with the lame plugin addon.
