Is the Asus Crosshair compatible with the the new PCIe 16x 2.0 video cards? I am looking at the MSI R4870

TO clarify your post, the Asus crosshair does not have PCI express 2.0 slots, so will not run modern cards at their full speed. It has two PCIe 1.1 slots, which means that 2.0 cards will function, but the fastest ones will run slightly slower than their potential.
Only the Crosshair II fully supports PCI express 2.0 cards.
