So after searching it seems there is no mod chip available but i have come across a few posts saying you can flash the hard drive. Is this true? If so how hard is it? And do you have to keep redoing it every so often? Btw i have searched and not come up with a definitive thread explaing how's/and what's so if any know where a thread(s) is that i can read or be beneficial in me reading and understading more please post here as it'll be appreciated.

I really don't understand what you mean by flashing the hdd.

The ps3 isnt hacked yet if that answers your greater question.
