I apologize if there are threads about this, but most that I have found are outdated. I have a PS2 Slim along with 2 boys and they don't take care of their belongings.

I have a V13 PS2 and I do not care for the cost of the chip and I can also solder so the amount of wires isn't a problem. I would prefer region override and can play all PS1 and PS2 back-ups. I have heard of swap magic but with the boys, I believe they will break the ps2 instead, thank you for your time and help.

I completely understand!! LOL I have two boys myself.

I am really happy with my Crystal Chip 2.0 Pro. It is easy to update and if the boys erase the chip for some reason, just pop in your update disk, (after you explain to them that they broke it...you gotta make them feel bad so they wont do it again..heh) and reflash it.

If you do not want to worry about flashing, the Duo 3 Ultra is a perfectly stable and reliable chip. I have done quite a few of those, all work great!!

Haha, with the crystal I believe my house can actually be quiet for a day or two. I'll look into the two chips and I believe the Duo 3 is actually one of the newer chips released. Thanks for replying.

Crystal lite or Pro is the way to go.

Sorry to jump on your thread, but whats your guys take on the DMS4 EZI LITE SE Solderless ModChip

My girlfriend is looking to mod her siblings ps2 mainly for back-up games. Is this chip compatable with all games released as of date? Would go the solder route, but the only things i've ever soldered in my life are 0603 smd LED's.

I personally like FMCB. No need to open and solder something on the PS2 mainboard.

I use Duo 3 Ultra on my V5 and V12 PS2 and it boot fast on originals and backups. You should give it a try!
