Well as long as you have a memory card with some free space for freemcboot then im pretty sure it works on all of them. Just try installing it, wont take that long, if it works then great otherwise just delete it from your memory card.

Hi guys,

I managed to install free mcboot on my mc's version 1.6 and 1.8. When I went to a friend, I was able to boot with version 1.6 but not with 1.8, although they are both multi. When I tried to install free mcboot 1.8 on my friends mc, it didn't boot either.

So it has to depend on the mc and not on the console, am I right? Or maybe both. Any help???

Thx in advance...

I asked the same question on sksapps fourm and bootlegninja, also from psxscene and seems to know alot about it said this:

"It's compatible with some SCPH-9000x PS2's. date code 8a is definately safe. some 8b's work. some don't and 8c and later is where it won't work with it."

I think the last number, has to do with region, and i think 2 was part of europe/au so that won't really help. The 9000x are quite easy to identify, there the only type of ps2 slim with a built in power supply, and doesnt need the power brick, so in the back it has the power cable plug (like old ps2) instead of the circle plug. The front also look different. But yea, u gotta check the date code, so...

As with memory cards, the Sony ones are the preferred memory cards to used, some 3rd party won't work as well, and v1.8 should of fixed most of the 3rd party memory card tat won't work.
