Windows 3.x is retired after eighteen years of service. Support was maintained until 2001 and license issuing has been stopped on November 1st, following the end of the last embedded operating systems.
Windows 3.x required a 10MHz processor, 640KB of RAM, and 7MB of hard drive space. Windows Vista now requires a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 20Gb of hard disk space.
LOL, thanks for bringing back good memories! I just brought my IBM PS/2 upstairs to see if it still worked, and it's alive and kicking! 25MHz, 4MB of RAM (cost a fortune back in '93, more than 4GB DDR2 today!), 85MB HDD and a solid VESA graphics card. Played Doom, W3D, Indy 500 and a couple others very smoothly.

Haha, I used to come home and use Paint for hours! But it's obvious everyone has moved on. It's sort of a joke to be using 3.1 full time anymore.
