Blueray tracking bar missing when patched thru AV System

I just purchased a new Marantz receiver the SR 6003 and When I patched my Blueray player thru the HDMI and out to my plasma. I was missing a tracking bar during playback of BD movies. When I had my Blueray player connected to my TV direct when I played a movie and I would pause/ff or rewind you would see the tracking bar on the bottom of the set. When in the new configuration the bar is missing. Has anybody come across this before.
