I have a question, does or will the PS3 ever have a function to allow you to play music from your library while you are playing a game? The Microsoft Xbox 360 has this function, and I was just wondering if the PS3 does or will ever have it.

It does but not in the same way as the 360 because Microsoft patented that function.

Some games for the ps3 can access the music on the hdd, they usually call it custom tracks or something like that.

The game that I know support it are:

Burnout paradise
Pixel junk Monsters
Stardust HD
Midnight Club: LA

I'm sure there's more but they aren't coming to mind atm.

I've read that Motorstorm 2 also supports it. Not sure about Motorstorm 1 though. I also read somewhere that it is really dependant on the game devs and whether or not they feel that their music selection is what enhances the game. A game like Uncharted or Tomb Raider may not lend itself to custom music. But I don't see why any multiplayer game from this point and on should exclude the feature.
