I flashed a ms-28 samsungxbox 360 not even 3 weeks ago and got about 3 hours tops of game play out of it. I bought this peice of garbage off ebay, of course it was a 2005 or 2006 model that i thought have all disappeared. But of course i am stuck with it now, although i still do have a normal new hdmi port xbox(that is not modded).
Problems i've went through in the last three weeks:
1)3 red rings (error 0102 i believe)"The easy one to fix"
2)i towel trick it ( i know terrible idea and it bad)
3)works for 2 days
4)RRod comes out again (error 0102 i believe)
5)i seek out a proffesional to fix it
6)i find out the x clamp was already removed but the previous guy "did a terrible job"
7)he completes the x clamp, and it works fine for a week
8)I now have the 3 RRod (error 0102 again)

they are garbage but enough ranting what should i do. I know i am taking it back to the guy to get it fixed again for free(he said he gave his own 2 month warranty on it). But im talking about in the long run, what should i do? I have to ditch it somewhere, i spent 130 on it.
I moded it in hopes of saving money, yet ive went about even on games and have gone through a hell of a hassel.
I think you should find someone with a A+ cert that knows what the hell they're doing. I'm not saying that the towel fix, oven fix or even microwave fix (lol sarcasm) doesn't work i'm just saying those are all horrible ideas that a certified tech wouldn't even think about.
Do you know how he completed the xclamp replacement? I have seen about 5 or even 6 ways to do this. Someone even suggested toothpicks, which if you're not careful you're going to break the micro-transistors on the bottom of the board and have major problems. Who cares if pin 110 and 111 have no continuity...nothing bad will happen....right.
Anyway the way i always fix xbox's is with llammas guide. Not only does it hold the heatsink down to the board, but it holds the board to the metal case. So think about it when the board heats up and would normally warp and cause more components to fail, what happens when a board can't flex anymore? That's right everything will still work. This is probably why i haven't gotten a rrod 360 back from a customer yet.
So check on the work you had done and see how he replaced the xclamp. You might find the problem by just asking him how he does it.
