Hi everyone,
I've just tried flashing my first xbox360 and it's the Samsung TS-H943 F/W MS25 following the 360mods.net tutorials but I'm getting stuck.
I'm using an Asus P5K motherboard with onboard SATA chipset and I know the tutorials harp on about using VIA Chipsets but I thought it might work.
I've followed the tutorials to the letter and downloaded all the correct files: Samsung iXtreme 1.4 and iPrep 101 v006.

I've also tested the drive by connecting it to my pc and checked in BIOS at startup and it is appearing on whatever SATA port I put it into. So I'm guessing my chipset can "read" it.

However I run iPrep from a flash USB at startup and at the stage searching for the drive it can't find anything!?

I think my problem lies in the settings I use when creating the bootable flash. I know there are two options SCSI and IDE and the options I have on both are:
SCSI -
ACK0UNOH IDE Controller (Dosflash Compatible Only)
JMicron JMB36X Controller (MTKFlash and Dosflash Compatible)
Microsoft iSCSI Initiator (This Device is not supported)

IDE -
Intel(R) ICH9 2 port serial ATA Storage Controller 1 - 2921 (MTKFlash and Dosflash Compatible)
Intel(R) ICH9 2 port serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 2926 (MTKFlash and Dosflash Compatible)

*So far I've tried the IDE Intel Controller 1 - 2921 which doesn't seem to work*

Does anyone know what option I should be using to create the flashboot?
Also if I've assumed anything wrongly above please correct me, I'd love to be able to flash this thing myself (Like an achievement! :P)
Any steps in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

make sure all your other drives are disconnected (IDE and SATA), and try multiple SATA ports. Start w/port 0 and just test the other ones, also try turning the drive on w/the pc (I know tut says not to but its worth a shot), and to keep it form shutting off just plug in the av cables.

Yay, I think I've managed to sort this problem out and patch the firmware. But before I start doing backflips and celebrating is there any way to test if it works without having to burn a backup to a DL-DVD?
