Stupid + not thought out VUDU may have thousands of HD films to download, but their $999
stackable VUDU XL box only stores 500 SD films (or around 50 HD films) on a paltry 1Tb HDD - how stupid is that as you need MUCH more ?
So that rules out downloading & keeping most of your films, so it forces you to keep renting them if you run out of room. And who has enough room to stack 4 of these to get a decent 4Tb of HDD space that HD films needs in order to store a decent amount of HD content.
My UK SkyHD box has been modded from 300Gb to 1Tb, but that box is meant just for temporarily storing SD+HD content from 1,000+ channels before watching them, unlike the VUDU in either case. Only draw back to Sky HD is the $95 p/m (65GBP) that includes $14.75 (10GBP) p/m HD subs.
