I'm new to this forum, and saw many interesting things around here, but since I do not have much time to look at everything, since I connect from work, I was not able to find too much yet.
Here in Argentina, original XBOX360 games are really expensive (like in US you were paying about $150-$250 for each game), and due to that, I bought a softmoded one, so I can download and burn the games myself (already found how to do it in this forum and google).
But, I never found if a XBOX with Falcon motherboard needs extra ventilation as to avoid the over heating as in previous mother boards. Would it be recomended?
Also, I am thinking about having the games running from a HD, but still have not find a final answer for that. I have seen that I would need a program called DVD2HD (or something similar to that) to be able to run the game directly from a HD. So, what is really necessary to run a game from a HD? Can it be another HD than the one that comes in the XBOX 360? It's because I have a 80Gb HD (Samsung, IDE) in my PS2 that I would like to format it and use for my XBOX 360 (I have found once a list of compatible HDs, but haven't fully checked yet). If is possible, does anybody have a link on how to install it?
And due to this ban wave that is happening, I will have to stay offline for a while, since buying a new XBOX will be impossible for me (it is like you guys in US paying $2.000 for a console). But once I read that you can buy a new EEPROM to unban your XBOX. Is it true?
You can't just use a hard drive for your 360, and you can't play games off it.If I remember correctly you are thinking about the Old Xbox where you could do that stuff.
Again the EEPROM thing is the old xbox not the 360.
K you can use Certain laptop drive to mod to your 360,but it will only use 20 60 or 120 gb of the drive.Click Herefor the link.
And on the 19th of Nov there will a update from xbox live that will allow you to play games from HD.But you will still need the Game in the Drive.Hope this helps you out Some.
Hopefully this helps
So I really made lots of mistakes. I see that only SATA HDs can be used, according to this link, meaning, my HD will not work.
Now, my only question now would be about the heating. I have been afraid of buying a XBOX 360 due to the usual issue of red lights related to over heating of the system. Once I got to know about the new version of motherboards, fixing that issue I decided to go for it.
But would it be recomendable to put some extra fans to improve the air circulation in the XBOX 360 with a Falcon motherboard?
