Up until a week or so ago I could burn any disc no hassles, but all of a sudden all my Xbox 360 discs now are burnt with no errors but show up as Play DVD on the 360 and if they play it says to play this disc put it in an Xbox 360.
Can anyone help me as I have tried everything and I am almost up to a whole spindle of dual layers wasted. I have tried it with Verbatims and Riteks and with CloneCD and IMGBurn and it made no difference. I have also tried it on a different PC that worked last time and for some reason it did not work this time also. Has there been any extra put into the Xbox 360 games to stop them working or has there been a Windows update to stop it working?
I have tried different PC's and they all do the same, so I thought it may have been my laser, but I have also tried them on 2 other Xbox 360's also and get the same error. The strange thing is that all my old games are working flawlessly and load up straight away, but if I try and reburn one of the games that was working, it will show up as Play DVD. I have the NXE beta on my system but the other 2 Xbox's have the regular dash, and as mentioned all my old games still load. It seemed to go wrong after I installed RecordNow Max 4.6 but I uninstalled it, and it also does not explain why the other PC's/Laptops do not work also. (I am up to 2 laptops and 3 different computers with varying burners and still no joy!)
I am hoping someone here with the knowledge can help me as I have tried everything! (Bookset to DVD-ROM and all!)
sounds like the drive in your xbox went bad. if your old games that used to work do that as well. then its safe to say you need a new dvd drive for your xbox. you can pick one up cheap on ebay.
Hi,
It was a total noobish error I made, by fluke every disc I had ever bought before was a +R, and these discs were all -R's. I had a spare +R and when I burnt it, it booted up straight away. I knew of the fact that you had to use +R's but I was certain I had used -R's before. But on going through all my games it shows that they were all +R's so I will grab a new spindle today and get back to it! Thankfully my 360 drive is A-OK!
