i baught a 2006. flashed 360 on av forums arround 6 months ago ,3 months ago i did the xclamp fix as i got the rrod, worked fine for 10 weeks now its back to rrod,
its been opened about 20 times messing with gpu paste, and tightning scews, you can tell its been opened,
instead of throwing it away, could i send it to microsoft,if i ring them and just say its got the rrod.if they charge me for fixing it will be cheaper than buying a new xbox360.
or will i have to pay for shipping if they wont fix it.
Don't Quote me on this, but I'm sure they won't even look at it if it's been opened.I know I sent one in with the sticker not perfect in they wouldn't touch it, even after i talked to them.I think the only time they touch them is when the warranty has ran out, in you still haven't opend it.Maybe someone else has had better luck with microsoft, and can give you hope.
they wont fix that you are wasting your time, but the shipping is free. your best bet would be to get it reflowed there is a guy i believe i saw on here someone said he is doing boards for 35$ 15$ shipped. look through the past 2-3 days of posts. hope this helps.
if the console was registered by the previous owner u wont be able to send it in anyway cause they will tell u it isnt registered in your name and they dont know if u stole it or how u got it and the person on the registration has to send it in. this happened to a few different ppl i know.
