Help: PSP Screen Turned Black, Booting But Won't Go Into Recovery Mode

Please help. My son's PSP screen turned black while playing Naruto yesterday and has been that way since. It still reboots and I can hear the sound of it starting up the UMD game inside but the screen is just flat black. I also can hear the clicks of the menus when I move the arrows.

I tried going into the Recovery Mode but it won't. I believe I'm doing it right(press R1 and hold then switch on) but odd, the screen just stays black and nothing happens. The green led stays on. Btw, its running on M-33. Thank you in advance.

make sure that you turn your psp completely off to go in to recovery mode i suggest you turn it on normally then turn it off but hold it till it turns off by itself and you dont bring to on switch down then hold down the r trigger and try and turn it on
