Hi there, thanks for viewing the thread first of all, i really need some help here. Complete newcomer to all of this so i ask for your patience and hope someone here can shed some light on this.
Here's what i did:
I install the internal Samsung Spinpoint 3.5" 1TB hdd, plug in the HDMI, power adapter and network cable.
First problem - No automatic hdd formatting wizard is started. I go into the setup menu and try doing the NMT wizard but first of all have no idea which of the two ext2 and ext3 i should format as, secondly, the wizard stops as it seems to require a network connection and mine is for some reason not working.
Which leads me to the second problem - the internet connection not working. I do not have a router, only a network cable straight out of the socket so to speak and i have no idea what to do to make it work on the A-110. On my Mac mini, i had to punch in some IP, Subnet mask and DNS numbers etc, would there be a similar process here? The network port on the back of the A-110 is frenetically blinking green though, it's strange it's not working by just plugging it in. I thought it was all recognized automatically in regards to IP etc.
Third problem, i have installed the ExtFSManager which shows up in my Mac mini's system preferences under it's own tab, but when i plug in the A-110 via the USB-PC port to one of my my Mac mini's USB ports i get this error message when i try to mount it:
"Command: Mount
Device: disk2
Message: Unsupported request (The filesystem may need repair. Please use Disk Utility to check the filesystem.)
Error: 0xF8DA000C"
I'm desperate here, nothing works, everthing's a mess. The only thing i DID succeed with was downloading the latest firmware to a USB stick and updating the A-110 via that. Didn't help any of the above mentioned problems though.
Please, if you can shed some, ANY , light on this...
