Can anyone help me out, I have two different file problems across about a 100 or more video files.

I have the k-lite codec pack installed

On the first on initial opening it will say cannot render file, when I open this file in gspot:

Video
Codec =
Name = MPEG-4
Status = Codec Status Undetermined

User Data/Metadata
[USER] DivX999b000p
[USER] XviD0037

Proposed Codec Solutions and Tests
Rendering faild. Following is the error reported by DirectShow:
0x80040265: [unknown]

With those files I don't understand whats going on, please help.

The second type of files are really scary, on initial opening of the file there is no video, put the audio comes through like somebuddy scratching a record and the play time like 12 hours long or longer.
When I throw the file in Gspot:

Container
File type: Unknown
Mime Type: Unknown

Ugh I can't lose all of these files some one please rescue me!

I've used K-Lite Mage Codec Pack for more years than i can remember.
The only time i ever see 'cannot render file' is when a movie file is still in the process of being downloaded.

What version of K-Lite are you using, plus the proverbial tech support question "what have you installed/changed on your pc recently" ?

I haven't changed anything, yea they are complete files.

The two hard drives were in an external Fantom (manufacturer) drive. But then the board in the external died so I took the two drives out and threw them in my desktop.

There's no guarantee that the drives are being addressed
(drive geometry) the same in the PC as they were in the external box.

If this is the problem you may be out of luck.

Try actually watching one and see if it plays normally all the way
through. Use something like VLC to watch, because it doesn't depend on
external codecs.
