I use DVD Shrink and DVD Decryptor. Are there any better programs that compress movies better? I tried using Clone DVD 2.0 clonedvd.net and something didn't work. It burns successfully, but the dvd player doesn't read it and neither does my computer. Thanks for any input.

what i mean by better compression, is a program that can compress a movie as close to 100% as possible. Clone DVD 2.0 does the movie 100% with extras and everything. For me it burned something, but it did not play it or read the movie. So I want to know, what other programs compress movies as close to 100%? Is there anything better than Shrink? Anyone have the guide to DVD Clone 2.0 by CloneDVD.net? Thanks again.

ScubaPete,
Try not to be so smart. I know where the guides are on this website. If you actually read my post you would know that I am talking about Clone DVD 2.0 by CloneDVD.net. I'm not talking about Clone DVD by Elaborate Bytes. Maybe you should know that there are two programs out there with the same name. I already saw that guide and it is not the one I am looking for. Thanks for nothing but an insult. I need the other guide which is not on here.

Why come here and talk smack to someone who was trying to help you? Talk about ungrateful.

I post a question and nobody seems to answer my questions but instead tell me how to use this website. I am not trying to be rude, but people question my question. Nobody can seem to give me a simple answer to my post. If someone does not understand what I am saying then they should ask. Nobody helped with anything. Thanks.

No problem. Keep in mind that people don't get paid to be here, have limited time to answer many questions and that posting the same question in another thread is against forum rules.

DVDShrink(free) or DVD2One($$) should be comparable to Clone DVD 2.0.

Hi PIO4030,

If an original movie can fit on 4.74 GB (the size of a blank DVD).. then DVDSHRINK will not compress the movie at all.. and you will get it all.. (as clean as you can get it). This type of DVD (which can all fit on a single blank DVD) is called a DVD-5 and the resulting quality will be just as good as the original.

When a DVD exceeds the 4.74 GB (4464 is the size that DVDSHRINK will compress it to), then that type of DVD is called a DVD-9 type (one that can't fit on a single DVD blank without being compressed).

The most important thing for me is video quality. In 90% of the cases if one simplyu taakes the main title and strips all the extraneous audio streams.. then it will more than likely be able to fit on a blank without being compressed. The rate of compression is based on the size what you want to put on the blank. The more extras you take off.. the less you need to compress.

I've used DVDSHRINK from the day I discovered it and threw away my Xcopy Platinum. If you know how to use DVDSHRINK and take only what's important.. you won't be disappointed in the outcome.

Regards,
CK

pio4030,

Ya sure have a lousy attitude and a smart mouth. I?m quite aware of CloneDVD by Elby, CloneDVD by CloneDVD.net and DVD CloneR by DVDCloner.com and when we go around to as many threads as we do and just about everyone calls all of the above ?CloneDVD? - whether by Elby, dot net or dot com - it?s a tad hard to tell what each person is thinking of -

How about you going to 50 to 75 threads a night in your free time to help others - then ask yourself if it?s worth it to take crap from someone like you - I doubt if you would take your mouth.

You?re complaining about such a simple question, I?ll give you a simple answer, use DVDShrink - I just took the DVD ?In Too Deep? (3,322 MB), used Shrink?s Custom Ratio to do the entire DVD - menus and Extras, in 2 passes got the size to 1,350 MB - more that your required 100% -

And Yes, I did it on my own time, what did you do for me today ?

Yea, right -

Thanks for nothing -

When I use shrink, i delete many things but the movie does not come out close to 100%. Is there a way on shrink or any other program to delete the extras folders, advertisements and previews in the beginning of the DVD or other things? Can I make a DVD very close to 100% or can I make it on two DVD discs or what? Any advice you can give me on making the movie as close to 100% as possible? Thanks for any input.
DVD2One will remove all , this is the method I have chosen to do for many yrs.
Just rip main movie VOBs along with title set IFO & compress w/ DVD2One , and DVD2One will make whatever needed BUP & IFO files so as to be burnable with Nero or similar in a VIDEO_TS folder.

Do NOT go around disrespecting users that have been trying to help you the whole time, if you'd perhaps been very specific in your question you might've got a response that corresponded.
I searched all your posts pio4030 and it would seem that you have not been as helpful as you 'expect' from others - behave !;-)

Thanks for your input Nephilim and UT_CK. ScubaPete, once again, if you read the beginning of the post, you would know that I was referring to the CloneDVD 2.0 by CloneDVD.net. I was very specific. I've seen the guides on this site for the other version. But thanks for your input. Do you guys know if there is a guide for CloneDVD by CloneDVD.net? I used the program. It says it burned the movie successfully, yet the dvd player does not read it and neither does my computer. It burned something, yet it won't play. Thanks again for your help. I use Shrink, but I wanted to know if there is something better than it. CloneDVD 2.0 is better, but I can't make it play my movies. Thanks.

No offense, but there is nothing better about a program that can't make working copies.

DVD2DVD-R combined with CCE beats any transcoder hands down, but is only able to copy a single movie title.

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !
