Problems opening files after using DVD decoder

I hope someone can help me. I have downloaded the DVD decoding software from this website and the copying process completed sucessfully. Hurrah! However, when I open the files saved to my HDD (without the DVD in the DVD drive) nothing is played. I have tried opening both the image file and the MDS file. This is driving me CRAZY!!
