I read a post about this a little ways below and I think I have the same problem. Can someone please confirm this?
I have a backup copy of a blu-ray movie that was broken into 2 Dual Layer DVD's. I can play them on a blu-ray player or the PS3 and they play great. I extracted the .m2ts files and put them on my NAS device (2TB). I can play the .m2ts files fine over the wired network with my PS3 through TVersity. However, when I try playing the file off of the NAS with my PC, the audio/video gets way out of synch. I tried copying them to my PC's HDD and same problem. On my PC, I'm running 3 gigs of memory, and a AMD Dual Core 6000 3.0 Ghz. I tried them on another PC and I'm seeing the same thing, but the processor is slower than that. Any ideas? The movie is in 1080P. Each hour of vide (.m2ts) file is about 7 gigs. So 14 gigs for a 1.5 hr long movie. Seems like a lot of data for a 1080P when I've got a lot that will easily fit on on DL disk.
The sound car in the PC went out so there was no sound, but processor was still showing an average of about 80% usage with dips to 73% and peaks to around 90%.
I tried the latest revision of the MPC.
I installed the latest version of FFDshow
I have not tried any special settings on the HDD's
This is a 1080P movie that is around 13 gigs. It seems to happen on the 1080P movies a lot more. They all play fine streamed over the network on the PS3.
Any tips on those HDD settings? Or a link to a thread?
Regarding the HD settings, just open the Device Manager
and click the IDE controllers. Check the tabs and look for anything
suspicious. If the drives are IDE, you'll find "advanced settings"
where you'll see the transfer mode.
If it's SATA, each brand of controller has it's own thing.
Mine is Nvidia and it has a speed test in there. Take a look and
see what you get.
Have you tried VLC to play the files? Are these 1080p files 60fps,
or 30? I must admit, I've only ever played 1920*1080 @30 fps (according to vlc) on my box and they play just fine. My PC is
a smaller spec that yours - AMD64 X2 4200 @2200 MHz
