just watched the start of the video, from what i watched it looked like the correct procedure. Do you know what drive you have?
There is this really convenient 360 tool which you can buy off ebay, its very cheap and makes openng the xbox really easy :)
After you find out what drive you have just search the forum for a tut on modding that drive. Good look mate,

It doesn't get any easier than Textbook's 2008 guide for n00bs.
I don't have the link, but it's easy to find, it's a PDF with step by step instructions for each type of drive... even tells you different methods for making backups.
It really couldn't be easier!
About 2 or 3 days of forum reading and my Box is back together and good to go :)
A Note from me though:
It took me about 45 minutes and close to 10 Q-tips with Isopropanol (sp?) to get off that nasty excuse for thermal compound Microsoft uses for the CPU/GPU.
If you're comfortable, I'd recommend doing it and replacing it with good stuff, better cooling never hurt anything.. (in the Xbox) :P

what are you talking about??? how does this have to do with anything for modding the drive??

This is my third 360 (warranty replacement on my console) and I don't exactly have faith in their builds as far as cooling/heatsink goes... some of the consoles out there still had foil over top of the heatsink compound when it was put on the chip...
It doesn't directly ahve anything to do with modding the drive, but I'm sayin if you got it apart why not clean that garbage of your chip and re-goo it with something that works a little better?
