I have the same situation with my Model PSP-2001. I searched all over the internet and there wasn't anything that would answer this. I asked the same question on a different site and the answer was that the
PSP 2000 is a series. With all interchangeable screens, meaning the PSP-2001 is a series PSP 2000 unit. So the web sites selling the PSP 2000 series screens will work. See this link as well
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...read.id=3410499

I will be ordering a Series 2000 screen for my Model PSP-2001
I hope this helps, as there were no other posts to this issue, and I was in the same boat

Well please let me know if it worked out for you as id like to buy a new screen for my psp and as you saw i found one on amazon that looks like the one in my psp and it looks like it will fit my psp the data and backlight cables are both the same on my psp as on the one on amazon but i hope the pinout is the same, oh and i checked that website you linked me to and it said that the 1 in 2001 is the region number the us version is a 2001 but the japanese version is a 2000 both consoles r the same except the region code and what firmware to use, but we will see what happens. and you dont need to use the sites URL button just paste the url into the message and the system will make it a link if its valid. I hope you get your psp working and please write back if it worked and ill get the same screen

I ordered the PSP-2000 series slim Screen today from a site called Yallstore.
I had been looking all over the internet for several hours and decided this would be a little bit better than a couple of the other sites for this somewhat low price.
YallStore Slim Screen
I should have it the beginning of next week. I will assemble it and let you know if the Series 2000 screen actually fits the PSP-2001

About Yallstore, their encryption on the site is not 100%, my firefox flagged this and this site doesn't supply identity info so id be careful buying of this site, id strongly recommend buying off amazon or some other reputable site, if you have the firefox browser you can see if a site is 100% secure if you see HTTPS at the start of the URL and if you see only a padlock icon on the bottom right of the browser status bar, if you only see a padlock then you are ok but if you see a red exclamation point id be careful, if you notice unknown charges on your credit card then if freeze it at once, just offering my heads up

I just finished putting the screen in no problem. Now to your Video conversion programs, I have extensive hands on experience. To convert a dvd movie and make it a mp4 psp movie to play on your psp do the following
Go to Slysoft.comDown load the any dvd and dvd mobile.
They will both run with a trial.
The any dvd runs as a service and in the back ground, you don't need to do anything with it.
It automaticaly removes all security from the DVD instantaneously. Secondly using the Clone DVD mobile select the source next, next select the output type as psp. In a couple of minutes you will have a mp4 ready for your psp. If you want a complete tutorial to do this post back and I will create you one.

I have a bunch of converters for different video formats like SUPER (C) and jodix free ipod converter, jodix and even SUPER can convert DVd files to mp4 ive done a music video from both men in black movies and it came out awesome i think i just dragged the .vob file out to a folder but what i really want to do is rip all my DVDs to mp4 and store them on my pc and play them on my psp but i need a big ass card for my psp a 16 gig or higher, but i havent been really messing with DVDs lately mostly converting the buttloads of videos on my pc for psp playback and the PSP handles videos very well, I bought a psp composite cable it hooks the psp slim up to a standard TV red white yellow cables so i can put movies on my psp and show them on my 72 inch big screen TV

The Sly soft product line is off the hook.clonedvdmobile :CloneDVD mobile converts your DVD movies quickly and easily into a format that your portable device (Sony PSP, Apple iPod Video, iAudio X5, Creative Labs ZEN Vision, etc) can play. You can also convert your DVDs to other file formats, such as DivX, XviD, AVI, MP4, etc.
They even have an extensive forum to support all questions concerning any question you may have Forumslysoft
I have used the tool set and have created 15 different movies that specifically work on any mp4 player to include Sony PSP. One of the options when using clone dvd mobile is that it lets you choose the final file size. To keep my PSP library standard in size they are all 1 gig each. My server I run from my home is down as a water pipe broke on it, but when it's back up I will post a link so you can pull down any psp movie you want. By the way when you are messing with VOBS you have to know which one has the good video and not just an outake. The combination of using SLYSOFT PRODUCTS ANYDVD WITH CLONE DVD MOBILE cannot be beat for the simplicity of ripping a flick for your PSP. Heck there is even an option for my walkman

Woolybear:
When i was into ripping DVDs i would extract a bunch of stuff off the dvd and then play each one in powerDVD to see if its the right clip and if it is i put all of the right clips into a folder and dump the rest of them unless they got something good on them. and is this program free and does it combine all the chapters of a movie into 1 psp compatible mp4 file i got a few on here that i downloaded that were ripped from DVDs to mp4 and i didnt rip them but im not sure if they will work on my psp some are divx and some are mp4

There are no differences. I have researched this thoroughly with many other web site forums. All characteristic of the display are the same.
Sharpness-same
backlight-same
quality-same
